KultiKulti by Mariana Zapata
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary:

“Trust me, I’ve wanted to punch you in the face a time or five.”

When the man you worshipped as a kid becomes your coach, it’s supposed to be the greatest thing in the world. Keywords: supposed to.

It didn’t take a week for twenty-seven-year-old Sal Casillas to wonder what she’d seen in the international soccer icon—why she’d ever had his posters on her wall, or ever envisioned marrying him and having super-playing soccer babies.

Sal had long ago gotten over the worst non-break-up in the history of imaginary relationships with a man that hadn’t known she’d existed. So she isn’t prepared for this version of Reiner Kulti who shows up to her team’s season: a quiet, reclusive, shadow of the explosive, passionate man he’d once been.

Nothing could have prepared her for the man she got to know.

Or the murderous urges he brought out in her.

“Sal, please don’t make me visit you in jail. Orange isn’t your color.”

This was going to be the longest season of her life.

Review:

“He’s wearing a wedding ring,” Kulti’s low voice murmured from right next to me.

“That doesn’t mean I can’t look,” I muttered right back, noticing that yeah, he was wearing a shiny yellow-gold wedding band right above a tattoo of what looked like a letter.

Something came down over my eyes and I realized that the German had pulled his beanie down over my head.
hot jealous guy--check! *swoon

I loved this! I love Sal, she's one of the most very likable heroine ever. This story is not your typical fast-paced insta-love story(I have nothing against insta-lovestories) but this is a breathe of fresh air, the readers are given a chance to get to know the characters, to fell in love with them etc. I feel like Sal is someone I really know or can relate to, I love how she tries to be the best she can and give her all when it comes to her job. I slowly feel in love with Kulti, the way he changes for the better upon meeting Sal.

All in all I really did enjoyed this but I wish it to be longer or at-least the epilogue, I just want more because I'm a greedy little sh*t :p .

P.S I loved that I get to see a glimpse of Dex and Iris future here (Under locke book). I'm getting crazy because there is only one book of the Author I haven't read yet, I need more books from this amazing author.

Under LockeUnder Locke by Mariana Zapata
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summary:

He was my boss, my brother’s friend, a Widower, an ex-felon, and a man I’d seen casually with a handful of women. But he was everything that gripped me, both the good and the bad. Worst case scenario if things turned awkward between us, I could go somewhere else. I’d gotten over epic heartbreak before, one more wouldn’t kill me.

After moving to Austin following six months of unemployment back home, Iris Taylor knows she should be glad to have landed a job so quickly... even if the business is owned by a member of the same motorcycle club her estranged father used to belong to. Except Dex Locke might just be the biggest jerk she’s ever met. He’s rude, impatient and doesn’t know how to tell time.

And the last thing they ever expected was each other.

But it was either the strip club or the tattoo shop.

… she should have chosen the strip club.

Review:

Running BarefootRunning Barefoot by Amy Harmon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book Summary:

When Josie Jensen, an awkward 13-year-old musical prodigy, crashes headlong into new kid Samuel Yazzie, an 18-year-old Navajo boy full of anger and confusion, an unlikely friendship blooms. Josie teaches Samuel about words, music, and friendship, and along the way finds a kindred spirit. Upon graduation, Samuel abandons the sleepy, small town in search of a future and a life, leaving his young mentor behind. Many years go by, and Samuel returns to find his old friend in need of the very things she offered him years before. Their roles reversed, Samuel teaches Josie about life, love, and letting go.

Deeply romantic and poignant, 'Running Barefoot' is the story of a small town girl and a Native American boy, the ties that bind us to our homes and families, and the love that gives us wings.

My Review:

Favorite quotes from this book:

“Your song…that is the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me.”

“You see beauty in things other people just take for granted. You need understanding, and, and…deep conversation, and someone who can keep up with that mind of yours!”

Hi guys! Happy New Year!!! May this year be fruitful to all of us...more books and travels and food! yay! anyways..I've read this one last year in November, this is the first book that I've read from Amy Harmon and this will not be the last. I got an ebook copy of this but I'm planning of buying a paperback copy just so I can easily share this with my friends. Yes! this is a wonderful read, full of inspiring stories, there is a story within the story here, I especially love the Indian stories.

This is very wonderful book about life and love and lost....it made me realize a lot of things and which made me grateful that I chance upon this book.

Reading a book like this is like finding a treasure that feeds the heart and soul.

I read this book slowly, a couple of chapter each day which I think works great for me since This book is not meant to be devoured but chewed slowly..I loved the Navajo stories , the stories about the composers and musician...I loved everything about this book!

Short Book Review: Legal Affairs - Confessions of a Litigation God

Legal Affairs - Confessions of a Litigation GodLegal Affairs - Confessions of a Litigation God by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 4.5 of 5

WARNING, LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK from Matt Connover, Litigation God: Please do not attempt to read my story in public, as my sexual proclivities have been known to cause squirming in your seat, squeezing of your legs together and unintentional moaning, sometimes with spontaneous bursts of laughter at random moments. If you are offended by the fact that my oral skills are just as accomplished in the bedroom as they are the courtroom, then this book is not for you. There may be moments while reading my story that you get so turned on… so hot and bothered… that your squirming and moaning could turn maniacal in nature and neither I, nor the author, are responsible for the weird looks you may get. Notwithstanding the aforementioned warnings, if you assume the risk and read my tale in public, then I recommend you carry a spare set of panties with you. You will need them and you have been warned.”

My name is Matt Connover. I am a Litigation God.
Other lawyers quake before me.
Women crawl on their knees just to spend the night in my bed and when I’m finished with them, I walk away without a backward glance.

I am well satisfied with my life and there isn’t a damn thing I’d change about it.

That is, until McKayla Dawson came along.

She was meant to be for one night only.
But she got under my skin, and now I want her back underneath my body.

It’s torture working with her in my law firm… day in and day out. But I have to think maybe the Fates have intervened to throw us together because she is unlike anyone I’ve ever known, and thus I need to pay careful attention to these Legal Affairs.

****
Confessions of a Litigation God is a stand alone, full length novel. It follows the affair of Matt Connover and McKayla Dawson as told in the Legal Affairs Serial Romance, Volumes 1-6. This book is told strictly from Matt's point of view and has many additional scenes not included in the serial volumes.

Review:

I haven't read any Legal Affairs books aside from this one but after reading this I know that I need and want to read those books asap!

This was a very HOT read!! I surely recommend this to all my hot-steamy-read loving friends of mine, I loved the characters. I'm in love with Matt fucking Connover and I badly want to be McKayla ! I'm going to re-read this for sure..I think like now because there is no such thing as too much Matt Connover.

This is a type of book that should be read when you are in the safety of your home with complete privacy..because you are definitely going to blush...alot.

All in all I loved this book, I enjoyed reading this, I'm in love with Matt ..and I'm going to start reading everything written by Sawyer Bennett.

Book Review: Wrecked by Priscilla West

Wrecked (Wrecked, #1)Wrecked by Priscilla West
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”

Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.

The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.

Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”

Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “the Hammer.”

Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.

Lorrie knows that Hunter is the exact type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.

As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

Review:

I loved this! Both of the main characters are lovable, I loved the fact that they started as friends then their relationship blossoms into something better, I loved the that they gave each other the solace that they both badly needed.

Hunter just like most of the hero in any romance book is a hot, good looking and popular but I liked that unlike most of the hero he's not cocky and bossy in an alpha kind of way, instead he's patient with Lorrie and he offered friendship first when he realize that Lorrie is different from the other girls plus he rescued the kittens! how adorable is that?!

Lorrie, our girl even-though damaged is a fighter and not a pushover , she knows what's better for her and she tries hard to do that no matter how hard thus fighting her attraction to Hunter.

I enjoyed and loved and I might re-read this sooner than I planned. I recommend this to all romance book readers. Can't wait to read the book 2.

Book Review: Captivate by Vanessa Garden

Captivate (Submerged Sun, #1)Captivate by Vanessa Garden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In a glittering underwater world, nothing is as it seems...

In an effort to repair this broken bond, Miranda’s grandparents whisk the siblings away on a secluded beach holiday. Except before Miranda gets a chance to confess her life-changing secret, she’s dragged underwater by a mysterious stranger while taking a midnight swim.

Awakening days later, Miranda discovers that she’s being held captive in a glittering underwater city by an arrogant young man named Marko...the King of this underwater civilisation.

Nineteen-year-old Marko intends to marry Miranda in order to keep his crown from falling into the sinister clutches of his half-brother, Damir. There’s only one problem. Miranda is desperate to return home to right things with her sister and she wants nothing to do with Marko. Trying to secure her freedom, Miranda quickly forms an alliance with Robbie — Marko’s personal guard. However, she soon discovers that even underwater, people are hiding dangerous secrets..

 Review:

This is a fast and enjoyable read for me, since I've read this a couple of days ago when there is no internet because of the recent storm in our place I wasn't able to re-read the summary and so I've read this without a clue what this book is all about...and that is seriously refreshing.

I loved the plot, the world building, and the main characters. I was seriously scared that I might fall for the wrong guy (or Miranda will fall for the wrong guy) because to my dismay there's a semi love triangle, I hate love triangles! but thank goodness.. Miranda and I both fell for the same guy lols.

The story started with Miranda being held captive in an unknown place and later discovering her purpose is to wed the king and breed the next heir! Imagine that...that's cray cray but that's just only the beginning.

All in all I loved this. A hidden underwater city. A handsome king. Dangerous Secrets. I am captivated! only to discover that this is not a stand-alone! I'm dying to read the next book.

Cobweb Forest (Cobweb Bride Trilogy #3)

Cobweb Forest (Cobweb Bride Trilogy, #3)

Cobweb Forest by Vera Nazarian

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book Summary:

The world is broken... A dark Goddess rises. A mortal maiden must stop her.

COBWEB FOREST (Cobweb Bride Trilogy, Book Three) is the third and final book of the intricate epic fantasy flavored by Renaissance history and the romantic myth of Persephone, about death's ultimatum to the world.

Percy Ayren, ordinary girl from the small village of Oarclaven, and now Death's Champion, has delivered the Cobweb Bride to Lord Death--or so she thinks!

But nothing is ever as easy as it seems. Percy and Beltain Chidair, the valiant and honorable Black Knight, discover that even more is at stake than anyone could have imagined, when ancient gods enter the fray.

It is now a season of winter darkness. Gods rise and walk the earth in unrelieved desire, and the Longest Night is without end...

Meanwhile, landmarks continue to disappear throughout the realm. The cruel Sovereign's dead armies of the Trovadii clad in the colors of pomegranate and blood march north... As the mad Duke Hoarfrost continues to lay siege to the city of Letheburg, it is up toClaere Liguon, the Emperor's dead daughter and the passionateVlau Fiomarre who killed her, to take a stand against the enemy.

But Percy still has a difficult task to do, the greatest task of all... For in the end the Cobweb Bride awaits, together with the final answer.

At last all the occult mysteries are revealed in this stunning conclusion to the Cobweb Bride trilogy.

My Review:

Adding Cobweb Bride Trilogy to my to-recommend and favorite-series-shelf because this series is AWESOME! seriously the in-between waiting for each book to be publish is worth it. Have you ever read a book that is part of a series that totally rocks only to be disappointed in the next book? it happens a lot and it sucks because then I will be so depress and lazy I won't be able to function like a normal being for a few days..lol

so anyways I was skeptic when I started reading Cobweb Forest, I keep on telling myself to lower my expectations and be prepared for anything.

but just like the first two books, Cobweb Forest is a well-written fantasy that keeps on surprising the reader,

the story is never dull and I find myself rooting for Percy and Beltain's happiness. I loved this book though sometimes it tends to overwhelmed me because it's action-packed and lots of things are happening on the same time.

So if you guys are looking for a fantasy read, try the Cobweb Bride Trilogy...I find this series very refreshing and original.
